This Week
Hi lovelies, happy Friday! I’m so excited for the weekend to come, if only for the fact that I intend to sleep in, take naps and finish reading The Bell Jar. In my life of academic chaos, this seems like the perfect way to spend time when I’m not in class ;) This week:
I’ve received some wonderful news, though they aren’t definite ♦ I bought a netbook for taking notes in class; it is tiny and weighs only 1kg, so it is absolutely perfect for carrying around! ♦ I had the most amazing sushi lunch with friends followed by an afternoon of shopping, much needed girly time ♦ I realized the benefit of liquid foundation used in moderation to cover unwanted redness (I’ve always been too scared to try because I was afraid of looking like a rubber mask like a lot of girls do).
Here’s a collection of gems around the internet for this week (including latest Lemon Soda goodness!):
- Nerves are natural responses, good in some cases and completely inhibiting in others. Check out How To Deal With Nerves!
- On Wednesday I posted about a brief but blunt reality check I received.
- For another reality check: The Picture by David Cox.
I want you to look very closely at this picture and try and keep it in your minds eye. This was a perfectly healthy twenty two-year-old young man who in the service of his country got half of his head blown off. I think that’s important, I think that’s newsworthy. Let me tell you how newsworthy I think it is. I think that it’s more important than chocolate cake recipes and far more important than comic book reviews.
- Sarah Von’s True Story Series are amazing. The latest: I’m a Recovered Junkie.
- For a think: Do You React Consciously and Responsibly?
Have a great Friday and Weekend everyone!

This Week

Happy Friday! I only went to class one day this whole week so it has definitely been easygoing (except for the part where I felt like death.) This week I:
Returned from a long weekend with Tom in Barcelona :3 ♦ I got some sort of bug for the second time ever in my life ♦ I decided a netbook would be a smart choice for class notes! Definitely beats trying to write down everything the prof says ♦ I caught up on a lot of sleep and work ;)
- How To Avoid Looking Like A Tourist — my reflections after being a tourist for the weekend.
- Stepcase Lifehack is so full of win. Some goodies for you: 5 Ways to Stop Second Guessing Yourself & The One Thing That Makes Love Work.
- Interesting comments on Jessica Simpson being called fat. What do you guys think?
- DJ Mamy Rock — she’s a DJ, and she’s 69! Loves it.
- If you get yoghurt on the go and drop your spoon, here’s how to make one using the lid!
- Living in: Labyrinth from Design*Sponge is perfect. One of my favorite movies.
- The flying dragons from Avatar exist! AMAZING!
- Crazy goats. Hehe.
- 1938 Dating Guide For Single Women!
Haha!
Loved this movie, ages ago!

Ghost Town
I love this! How was everyone’s weekend? I spent mine with my cousin in the countryside and it was beautiful. Brought back a lot of memories from when I was younger, I think I needed that. Ready to take on Monday now!

This Week
Alright everyone, today is a big win because today I took my last exam! Done, gone, goodbye! Well, at least I am safe for 4 out of the total 6, but I have my fingers crossed that I won’t have to retake any. And I am a burst of positivity now, all smiles and sunshine since you know, I am done with exams! Moving on…
This week my dad left for Venezuela, and he is definitely my favorite father in the world and the only one I have so it was not the happiest time ♦ I decided upon a small little shopping list to reward myself for BEING DONE WITH EXAMS. Ok that is the last time I will mention that. The list includes leopard print tights, flower print tights, new flats, a cute day dress, a rose ring and a ribbon for my hair. Although it might look ridiculous on me because ladies I am no Sandra, but I would like to feel like a princess too! ♦ I got my camera back so am now going to be taking pictures of everything while I savor my freedom.
