Why do you (or don’t you) wear makeup?
When I was 12, I became obsessed with BonneBell lipgloss and Bath & Bodyworks glitter. They were my life. That’s as far as my makeup ideas went, and I loved it! Throughout middle school and highschool I got more into it, but not as a daily kind of thing. Perhaps it was because I felt a bit stupid wearing makeup and a uniform, and I didn’t think school was that important to get dressed up for anyway. But then I broke free of that and realized that HEY! If done right, makeup can be amazing!
The way I see it, makeup is there to enhance your features, whether it’s a bright or subtle look you’re going for. The only time it can get really, really bad, is when used as a mask (and I mean literally!). I guess the first step is recognizing and accepting that you are already beautiful without it, whether you’re a fair skinned beauty with green eyes and exquisite red locks or you’re darker with deep black eyes and amazing dark curls. There’s something suitable for every skin tone and every eye-color, so go with what you have instead of trying to work against it!
I wear makeup because by playing up my best features, I get an extra kick of confidence in me. I wear it because I think it’s fun to change looks once in a while, always going for something that defines me and that I feel good in. I’m not afraid to wear loud red lips if the occasion is right, but I also have no problem leaving the house ‘fresh faced’ with just a touch of lipgloss! It is by no means a necessary part of my routine, although I’m going through a phase where I just want to try and experiment with new products and colors. I find it incredibly interesting and fun!

I wear make-up coz it’s fun and it’s pretty. But sometimes I don’t when I want to give my skin a break.. love that image! x

Love make ups, they enhance your look and able to make you look fresher, more polished. Of course when you wear it too much and cake your face with it, you’ll look like a clown.
Yes, I’m talking about Kim Kardashian.
I don’t wear make-up because I just can’t be bothered; haha! *shrugs* ^^; Also, I don’t really know what to do with any of it and I hate buying unnecessary things.
I’m a fan of the natural look when it comes to make-up. I have found a routine for putting my make-up on that works for me and I stick to it like glue, except for on the odd occassion when I go completely crazy. I use concealor under my eyes (because I have an illness that means my body is usually run down and tired, so dark circles are pretty much part of me!), a light foundation or tinted moisteriser with SPF, a touch of blush and I curl my eyelashes. Most days I’ll also use my nude shimmer powder on my cheeks and under my eyebrows to brighten up my face, and a clear lip gloss. Then occassionally I’ll add mascara and lipstick (my favourites are my rose pink and a slightly dark red) if I have something special on.
I don’t see anything wrong with make-up, as long as your self-esteem doesn’t rely on it. I am comfortable enough to go out bare-faced, but I do find make-up gives you a confidence boost.
I feel like my makeup is somewhat necessary. I have had horrible, genetic under eye circles my entire life and if I don’t use at least concealer, I get asked if I have a black eye. This has happened enough times for me to fear leaving the house without concealer :(
other than that, I wear mascara and blush and a little bit of mineral foundation, just so I look “naturally perfect”~
i usually only wear makeup when im going out at night but now that im working im doing so in the day too. its tiring, i hate having to reapply everything!

i feel a lot the same as you do about wearing makeup. i generally keep it pretty simple, most days i go for eyeliner & blush. sometimes i like wearing a colorful lipstick red, coral, or pink but when i do that, i definitely play down everything else. i have gone out several times with no makeup at all & feel totally fine. i don’t ever want to get in the habit of wearing a lot of stuff on my face because then when you are having a lazy day, you would look so different & everyone would take notice.

I wear make-up because I love how dramatically different my eyes are when I wear eyeliner. (Which I do. Almost every single day!) I love that I can wear foundation and instantly look as though I HAVE slept for more than four hours or so! I love wearing blush or bronzer to FURTHER help this ”why yes, I have slept!” fakery!

I usually wear mascara and eyeliner in my daily life– I think I often don’t do more because I don’t know how, as silly as that probably sounds. I just always see people blending eyeshadows and stuff and feel like I could never make it look that cool. I also like a more natural look, though, which is probably the real reason I don’t go all-out unless I’m off to go to a party or something.

First of all, I just read “the quick version of your story” & you sound absolutely wonderful.
Second of all, I feel like I’m one of the few self-proclaimed feminists who DOESN’T have a problem with makeup. I feel that painting & adorning the body has been around for centuries. It’s artistic, in a sense and I think that’s why I appreciate it. I’ll wear makeup whenever I feel like it, and not wear it whenever I feel like it, too. it’s definitely not mandatory in my life, but it’s something I enjoy nonetheless.
Keep posting! xo

I don’t normally wear make up in the week…it’s too much effort and I like to stay in bed for as long as I possibly can! For me, it’s definitely a going out thing; I want to feel more polished and put together, and accentuate my features, although I never go too OTT!

Makeup can be a lot of fun, it’s a little time consuming though which is why I keep is simple on a day to day basis…although my most elaborate made up look is barely anything that exciting. :]

At first I never wore makeup because I was young with no older female guidance to help me apply it correctly and then I realized I couldn’t stand having anything other than moisturizer or sunblock on my face. Also my clean fresh face is one of the first things my boyfriend found attractive in me. I do think makeup looks lovely on others though I just prefer not to wear it.
I wear makeup mainly for fun- it’s like art to me. I love how I look without makeup, but I like putting it on.
I like bright eyeshadow or a dash of pink lipstick. I don’t need to wear makeup, but I enjoy it.

I really love wearing makeup however I don’t wear it everyday. Sometimes I think it is best to give makeup a rest just to ensure that it maintains a healthy glow! However, even when I do wear makeup I like a more “fresh faced” look. Although I love it when other people experiment with their makeup. I have to agree, when worn right makeup can enhance a persons looks and give them even more confidence! :)
